Hi ladies,
I hope everyone is hanging in there this summer.
I’m writing to you all from Washington D.C., more specifically from the floor of the main reading room in the Library of Congress - pretty sure this place epitomizes just how beautiful a city this is, but anyway…
There’s still plenty of important work to be done through the unifying power of sports and I’m honored to be in the arena with all of you. I was also incredibly honored to recently be recognized for W.I.S.S.C. via the local W.I.S.E. DC chapter with their inaugural ‘Women To Watch’ list, which reminds me that this grassroots community matters, and so I’ll continue to connect and curate and spotlight what I can so long as you all find it helpful.
Plenty of updates below in another packed double issue. Keep sharing any of your own updates via our private LinkedIn group as well, and stay tuned for some inspiring women Q&A in upcoming issues this fall.
Thanks,
Mandy
This month's 3 things:
|
|
1. One of the best things I saw:
The inaugural issue of “The Shift” (@theshiftison) a new publication and platform spotlighting women shaping the world, that debuted on July 25th, including a bunch of wonderful stories of women + sports + social change.
B'c this is a double-issue, also ICYMI, watch this inside look at Changemaker Day from WNBA All-Star in Indy. Things we love to see.

3. Jobs to share:
If you've read this far... this is my on repeat PSA to please SHOW THE SALARY. Several people have passed along some really cool roles this summer, from some big name brands, leagues, etc. which I'd love to share with this community but it's not helpful to anyone to pass along jobs that just vaguely boast about a "competitive salary" - it perpetuates inequity and wage gaps, especially for women. That said, have a job opening you want to share with this WISSC community of several hundred women? So long as you are mindful of including a salary range, happy to list in a future newsletter for free, just email me.

Thanks for reading and for being a part of our WISSC community!
