W.I.S.S.C. Monthly Minute
3 things this month for Women in Sports for Social Change
Hi ladies,
This Mental Health Awareness Month, we have our latest WISSC Woman of Wisdom feature, shining a light on athlete mental health. As soccer fans countdown to the world's largest sporting event that's now less than a month away, I'm actually more focused on counting down until AFC Richmond is back. Read more below and appreciate every last amazing woman in sports who has reached out saying this niche community has been helpful to them. Let's keep supporting each other and keep using the WISSC LinkedIn group to share and connect between now and the next second Wednesday of the month.

1. Best thing I saw:
If you know me, you know it's the official teaser for the upcoming season 4 of Ted Lasso, when he coaches a women’s team! Let's go! I'm hoping for some WISSC watch parties as these episodes are set to drop on Wednesdays:) You can read more and watch the trailer here.
Meet Suzanne Potts
2. WISSC Woman of Wisdom:
Our latest WISSC ‘Woman of Wisdom’ is Suzanne Potts, LMSW, MPH, who is the new Executive Director at Morgan's Message, working to strengthen student-athlete mental health. In her role as ED, and as a social worker, she seeks to support athletes at all levels who want to feel a sense of community. She’s inspired by the role that so many incredible women play in the sports space.
Her Advice? “We are so much more powerful together so finding ways to uplift, elevate or recognize other women as often as possible. It's a tough enough space to be in without other women trying to drag you down.”
How you can help her? “I'd love for you to learn more about athlete mental health during May (Mental Health Month) and follow Morgan's Message for our newsletter and ongoing activations. If anyone here has an interest in collaborating with us, please message me! I am excited to continue to expand the organization and collaborate with new partners.
